Emphasis on Product and Quality

Tea is a food item and we attach prime importance to its hygiene and presentation. Food safety is a key issue and we are committed to providing tea lovers with a safe product to maximize the pleasure of a good cup of tea.

In order to constantly upgrade our services, we are paying prime importance to developing our infrastructure for warehousing and processing facilities. A new warehouse facility has been developed in mid 2006.

The growing presence of foreign matter in tea is an issue of major concern and we have installed a state of the art tea cleaning machine to tackle this menace. The cleaning line includes sets of conveyors, metal removers, pneumatic blowers for removing light particles like hair, vibrators and meshes, fiber extractor, destoner and manual inspection provision. The bulk packing systems will shortly be augmented by facilities for vacuum packing to extend shelf life of packed products.

Our commitment to safe quality has prompted us to set up effective quality controls and apply for suitable international certification. We are HACCP certified and have applied for SQF certification for the new facility and this is in currently in process. We are already certified to export organic teas to the EU and USDA.

Pesticide residues and MRL levels in tea is an issue of concern associated with food safety worldwide. Regular product analysis is conducted in international laboratories to ensure that products comply to international pesticide norms.

The Tea Board of India has embarked on a project to assess feasibility of developing an export specific tea park which would house modern state of the art warehousing and processing facilities for tea. We are one of the companies that has expressed an in principle interest in joining this venture. This is with a view to constantly improving the final product that we deliver to our clients and to ensure that top quality teas reach the consumer.
